Chou Wen-chung conjures the shades of the sunset on New York’s Hudson River Valley with Twilight Colors. British composer Nicholas Maw passed away on May 19, 2009. BMV celebrates the composer with his Ghost Dances, an “imaginary ballet” for five players. In The Cinnamon Peeler, Californian Donald Crockett sets a bold and sensuous love poem by Sri Lankan-Canadian poet Michael Ondaatje. Mezzo-soprano Pamela Dellal is featured. Rand Steiger’s world premiere Elliott’s Instruments honors the centenarian composer Elliott Carter.
