Thea Musgrave
The Mocking-Bird, David Kravitz, baritone

For our first concert in many years at the Longy School of Music, it is a pleasure to reprise Thea Musgrave’s one-man opera written for BMV in 2001 in a concert performance. The Mocking Bird is based upon a Civil War tale about twin brothers separated in childhood that meet again on opposing sides of the battlefield. National Rapido! Composition Content Winner Charles Zoll’s pair of dance pieces also revels in a lighter side of the nostalgia of youth. Andy Vores’ Fabrication is the 15th in a series of works each dealing with a different musical element.
