In keeping with BMV’s effort to make new music accessible to a wider public, performances have an inviting, intimate, and casual atmosphere. Information about each work is provided in BMV’s concert program books, and Music Director Richard Pittman introduces each piece with an illuminating verbal program note immediately before its performance. Composers are often on hand to introduce new works and describe their experience of working with BMV.

To give the audience an opportunity to mix and mingle with musicians and composers, a free, informal reception follows every concert. With ticket prices of $30 or less, BMV continues to offer one of the most fulfilling and affordable artistic experiences in Boston.
